MU Online Classes Guide: Which Class Should You Play?
Compare every MU Online class, from Dark Knight to Summoner and Rage Fighter. Learn the strengths, playstyles and best picks for beginners and for PvP.
Choosing a class is the biggest decision you make in MU Online. It decides how you fight, which gear you wear and how easy the first levels feel. This guide explains each class in plain words, what it is good at and who it suits. Class availability depends on the server and its season, so check which classes your server offers.
How classes work in MU Online
Every class has a basic form and, after you reach a level milestone and finish a quest, an advanced form with stronger skills. Some classes have a third or later evolution on servers that use later seasons.
Each class uses stats: Strength, Agility, Vitality and Energy, and Command for the Dark Lord. How you spend your stat points shapes your character. Most servers publish recommended builds on their website or Discord.
Classes fall into three broad roles:
- Melee fighters who stand close and fight with weapons.
- Ranged and magic users who attack from a distance.
- Hybrids and support who mix damage with extra tools.
The main classes
Dark Knight
The Dark Knight is the classic warrior. It has a lot of health, strong defence and powerful melee skills. Advanced forms are known as Blade Knight and later Blade Master.
Good for: beginners and players who want to survive easily. It is also strong in guild battles because of its high health.
Things to know: it needs to be close to enemies, so positioning matters in group fights.
Dark Wizard
The Dark Wizard is a magic damage dealer with powerful area spells. Advanced forms are Soul Master and later Grand Master.
Good for: players who like fighting from a distance and clearing groups of monsters fast.
Things to know: lower health than melee classes, so you need to stay out of reach and use potions wisely.
Fairy Elf
The Fairy Elf uses a bow and can buff teammates with defence and attack boosts. Advanced forms are Muse Elf and later High Elf.
Good for: players who like teamwork. A good Elf is welcome in any party because of the buffs.
Things to know: it levels more slowly alone, so it shines when you group up.
Magic Gladiator
The Magic Gladiator mixes melee and magic. It uses both strength and energy, which makes it flexible. The advanced form is Duel Master.
Good for: players who want a hybrid that can fight up close and use spells.
Things to know: building a hybrid takes careful stat planning, so follow a guide at first.
Dark Lord
The Dark Lord leads a pet and uses the Command stat. It has strong skills and a powerful presence in group fights. The advanced form is Lord Emperor.
Good for: players who want a unique class with strong damage and leadership abilities.
Things to know: it is unlocked after you have another character at a certain level on many servers, so it is not always available from the start.
Summoner
The Summoner uses curse magic and summons creatures. Advanced forms are Bloody Summoner and Dimension Master.
Good for: players who like a different style, with damage over time and curses that weaken enemies.
Things to know: it is a strong solo leveller, but it can be tricky in PvP until you learn its skills.
Rage Fighter
The Rage Fighter is a fast melee class that uses fists and combos. The advanced form is Fist Master.
Good for: players who like fast, action-style fighting.
Things to know: it needs good timing and gear, so it rewards players who practise.
Best class for beginners
If you are new, these are the easiest to start with:
- Dark Knight: high health and simple melee skills.
- Dark Wizard: strong damage that clears monsters quickly.
- Fairy Elf: good in a party and useful to everyone.
You can always create another character later, and many players end up playing several classes.
Best class for PvP
PvP depends on the server's rules, gear and balance, so there is no single answer. A few general points:
- Classes with high health and defence are good in long fights.
- Burst damage classes can win quickly if they hit first, but are fragile.
- Support classes make a team much stronger.
Read your server's PvP rules, and ask in its Discord which classes are doing well in the current season.
Tips for choosing
- Pick the playstyle you enjoy. You will spend many hours with this character.
- Check the server's rates and rules. Some servers boost certain classes.
- Follow a stat guide. Putting points in the wrong place is the most common beginner mistake.
- Play with friends. Classes complement each other, so joining a party makes the first levels easier.
- Do not be afraid to try. Creating a second character is cheap on most servers.
